The Nautical Museum
The Nautical Museum in Castletown on the Isle of Man is home to the world's oldest yacht the Peggy, the oldest surviving shallop of her kind, built by an interesting historical character, Captain George Quayle. Come visit the Quayle gallery and learn about Captain George and his family as well as the Peggy, see previously unseen objects uncovered in archaeological excavations with exhibits including a leather pistol holster, a flintlock pistol mechanism, some coconut shell drinking cups and what is possibly an eighteenth century microscope.
