Metairie is the first suburb of New Orleans, and the largest community in Jefferson Parish Louisiana, located on the south shore of Lake Pontchartrain. Metairie is home to the New Orleans Zephyrs baseball team and there are many other parks and playgrounds with organised sports leagues. There are excellent and varied dining options, hotels, sightseeing, watersports and attractions to see while visiting, and many of the areas night clubs are located in “Fat City“, which was planned and developed as Metairie’s commercial district.
