Portmarnock is a sporty village and coastal suburban town in County Dublin, Ireland with the beach nicknamed The Velvet Strand due to the beautiful smooth sand all along it. The beach is very popular with windsurfers and kitesurfers, and there's are excellent links golf course here, and Portmarnock is famed for its world famous disco, Martello Tower, Jameson Whiskey and radio wave inventor. Portmarnock has hotels and lovely restaurants, and much to see and do, they say if you haven't strolled up the beach and bought an ice-cream and souvenir rock from the kiosk, you haven’t lived!
