Little Compton, Rhode Island, Newport County
Little Compton is a town in Newport County, Rhode Island, USA and according to 17th century land evidence orginally belonged to the Sakonnet tribe. There are sites of historical interest here and is the birthplace of the Rhode Island Red hen. Little Compton, between the Sakonnet River and the Massachusetts state border features the wonderful South Shore Beach, and there are hiking trails, recreational fields, tennis courts as well as a historical society and Spa and Goosewing beach preserve.
