Steinhatchee is a small town in Florida's Big Bend region and a Gulf coastal community in Taylor County. Combining the charm and ambience of the 19th century with modern conveniences of the 20th century, Steinhatchee has stunning Victorian homes on the waterfront, tranquil country roads and bike paths, it is also known for its Spanish moss. The Steinhatchee River flows by the community and into the Gulf of Mexico, and the village played an integral part in the foresting industry, fishing, crabbing and scalloping.
