Birkenhead is a seaport and urban area within the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral in Merseyside, England, and historically located in Cheshire County in Northwestern England at the mouth of the River Mersey. Connected to Liverpool by means of the 1230 yards long railway tunnel under the river Mersey, Birkenhead is an ancient town well known for it's shipbuilding yards and other notable industries.
