Wallasey, England, Merseyside
Wallasey is located in the borough of Merseyside, England right on the mouth of the River Mersey. The UK's first guide dog training school, the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, was founded in Wallasey, and the world's first passenger hovercraft service operated from July 1962 to September 1962 between Leasowe and Rhyl in North Wales. The area of Wallasey comprises several distinct districts, and these have gradually merged to form a single built-up area during the 19th and early 20th centuries.
